EXETER MORRIS MEN

319th Meeting of the Morris Ring

Friday 24th to Sunday 26th July 2009

The Saturday tours will start with mass dancing on Topsham Quay to emphasis the rich maritime heritage of Exeter and the River Exe. Topsham is some 4 miles from the M5 junction 30 and also has a frequent train service on the Exeter to Exmouth line.

More than a dozen Morris teams with about 180 dancers and musicians will be displaying the very best of Traditional Morris Dance at a host of locations in and around Exeter. We are sure to be seen at capering in Crediton, having a beer in Beer, breezing in Budleigh Salterton, swanning in Dawlish, terpsichoring in Teignmouth, being courtly at Castle Drogo (the last proper castle built in England), funky at Fingle Bridge and many other places. The Green at the magnificent Exeter cathedral will be another wonderful setting to see all the teams perform following the Sunday morning procession through the City.
